Payment! It’s important
You have to be paid for your work especially in private practice.
I take a no shame approach to money. Money is necessary in life- to survive, to have security and to make life easier and more enjoyable.
Please never ever agree to work for free when people can pay and especially if they are making money off you.
Anything that’s a webinar or an interview for their product or service – don’t do it
.If you want to work for free to give back, reserve your probono for clients who really can’t afford to access services.
It can be tempting to think working for free like this is cross-marketing but unless they have an audience of bazillions you will get nothing out of it. Meanwhile they collect $ from your free labour.
We are not Hollywood actors who get paid millions to then also promote the movie in “free” interviews for radio and television.Value your time.
That means charging for your expertise.
If you don’t value your time others won’t.
